A fixture here since 1845, it's much loved for its unpretentious quality cooking, fun old-Paris atmosphere, and fair value. Noisy, happy diners sit tightly at shared tables, savoring classic bourgeois "plats" from every corner of France." Faithie and I first ate here 35 years ago, and it hasn't changed an iota!
The top sign urges pedestrians to use one of the 400 public urinals installed throughout Paris. The bottom sign warns that anyone caught urinating in public will be subject to a 68 euro fine! ("Épanchement" translates literally as "outpourings"!)
